Add the chat to your website
The website chat is our own widget: one script tag, no third-party account and no review process. It is the only channel you can launch entirely on your own in a single sitting.
What you need
- Access to your site’s HTML, or a theme field where you can paste code
- Your site’s domain, if you want to lock the widget to it
Steps
- 1
Create the widget
In the panel: "Channels" → "Add channel" → "Website chat". Pick a title for the chat header, an accent colour and a corner. All of it can be changed later without touching your site again.
- 2
Copy the script tag
The channel card gives you a one-line snippet carrying your own widget key. Paste it just before the closing
</body>tag, on every page where the chat should appear.<script src="https://app.alex-dev.pro/widget.js" data-key="wc_xxxxxxxx" async></script>
On WordPress, Tilda, Wix or Shopify you do not need to edit template files — paste the line into the site-wide "custom HTML", "footer code" or "before </body>" field in the theme or site settings.
- 3
Check the hosted preview
Every widget gets a preview page at
/w/<key>; the link is on the channel card. Open it and have a full conversation there before you touch your live site. - 4
Lock it to your domain
Once the widget is live, add your origins — for example
https://example.com— to the allowed list on the channel, so nobody can embed your assistant on another site. Leave it empty while you are still testing.
What happens next
Visitors see a small bubble in the corner of your site; tapping it opens a chat that already carries your greeting. Every conversation lands in "Inbox", where your team can take over. Spend ten minutes on the first day reading transcripts — whatever the assistant could not answer belongs in the knowledge base.
